“Ping-Pong Remix” is the project in which Gastón Caba offers his Ping Pong characters in order to be recreated by some of his favourites illustrators. We could say that the digital and the web encourage the artistic collective work. And this might be true. We could theorize. But somehow there's something more basic in here: just game's logic. And we know it: the best games are the ones to be played by two. Without ping there's no pong. Without pong there's no ping. And this is a creative game, in which the rules are being rewritten while the game is played. ¡Your attention Ladies and Gentlemen!, the players are in the court. Enough of wasting your time with words... ¡the whistle is blowing! The game begins. Ping... Pong... And continues... ¡Piiing! ¡Poong! And it doesn't stop. ¡Ping-pong!

“Ping-Pong Remix” es el proyecto por el cual Gastón Caba pone a disposición su familia de personajes ping-pongneros para que algunos de sus ilustradores favoritos los trabajen y modifiquen a voluntad. Podríamos decir que lo digital y las redes alientan la creación colectiva y estaríamos en lo cierto. Podríamos teorizar. Pero aquí hay algo más básico: pura lógica de juego. Y ya lo sabemos: los mejores juegos se juegan de a dos. Sin ping no hay pong. Sin pong no hay ping. Y es éste un juego creativo, en el que las reglas se van escribiendo a medida que se juega. ¡Atención señoras y señores!, los jugadores ya están en la cancha. Basta de distraernos con palabras... ¡El silbato suena! El juego comienza. Ping... Pong... Y sigue... ¡Piiing! ¡Poong! Y no se detiene. ¡Ping-pong!

Meet the characters. This is the ping-pong team, ready to play. Turn off your movile phones and pay attention please. Each character keeps a secret: its own game strategy & style. But just like in a puppet theatre, the play result depends not on the charm of the character but on the puppeteer´s talent. Surely they´ll find themselves playing on unknown tables against surprising & mysterious adversaries, just as they are. Maybe the game becomes another game & the rules are turned into something better. Anything can happen when the judge gives the order. Here´s with you... The Ping-Pong Team!

Conoce los personajes. Este es el equipo ping-ponero, listo para entrar en acción. Apaguen sus teléfonos celulares y presten mucha atención. Cada personaje guarda un secreto: su propia estrategia de juego y su estilo. Pero como en un teatro de marionetas, el resultado de la obra no depende tanto del encanto de los personajes sino del talento del titiritero. Seguramente se encontrarán jugando sobre mesas que desconocen, con adversarios tan sorprendentes y misteriosos como ellos. Tal vez el juego se convierta en otro juego y las reglas se transformen en algo mejor. Cualquier cosa puede suceder cuando el juez de la orden.

The Remixes. With the first serve, the little ball was shot at full speed. It was intercepted by the hardest opponents that a ping-pong player can have. Beings of all shapes, colors and nationalities march around the stadium. Each one with its peculiar technique makes all games unique. There´s no need to say that none of them likes to respect the rules, when the game they play is the one that people like. Their magical trowels give back impossible balls. Long days are passing and the balls bounce from here to there forming strange figures. Finally, the referee stops the game with the final toot and falls exhausted on an immoral break. It´s time to say to all the teams: This match has reached its end! Many thanks for participating!

Los Remixes. Con el primer saque, la pelotita salió disparada a toda velocidad. Fué interceptada por los más dificiles contrincantes que un jugador de ping-pong pueda tener. Seres de todas las formas, colores y nacionalidades desfilan alrededor del estadio. Cada uno con su técnica peculiar hace a cada juego único e irrepetible. Para qué decir que a ninguno de ellos le gusta respetar las reglas, si el juego que juegan es el que le gusta a la gente. Sus paletas magicas devuelven pelotas imposibles. Largas jornadas pasan y las pelotas pican y rebotan de aquí para allá formando extrañas figuras.
Finalmente, el árbitro detiene el juego con la pitada final y cae extasiado en un tiempo de descanso inmoral. Llega la hora de decirle a todos los participantes: ¡Este torneo ha finalizado! ¡Mil gracias por participar!
